DUBLIN – July 29, 2026 – Aquila Air Capital (“Aquila”), a leading engine lessor based in Ireland and backed by funds managed by global alternative asset manager Wafra Inc., announced today the addition of a new member to its Technical team, Malachy Trainor as Assistant Vice President, Technical Operations.

Trainor, who will be based in the lessor’s Dublin office, will work closely with the existing Technical team to craft and deliver the creative solutions for the lessor’s growing customer base. He will report to Craig Shay, Vice President, Technical Operations.

Trainor joined Aquila from Dublin-based airline SAS Connect, where he served as Powerplant & Systems Engineer. Prior to that, he worked for Aer Lingus, Ryanair, and GE Aviation in various roles, such as Powerplant Engineer, Powerplant Specialist, and Powerplant Team Lead. Trainor earned his Master’s degree (MEng) in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Liverpool.
